Three years ago, on February 26, 2016, for the first time in the history of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, a canonization of a saint from two churches – the Bulgarian and Russian – took place. The celebrations for Archbishop Seraphim Sobolev, cannibalized as St. Serafim, the Sofia Wonderworker, continued for a few days.
Archbishop Seraphim is known among Bulgarian Christians for the miracles that take place at his grave in the crypt of the Russian Church „St. Nicholas the Wonderworker „in Sofia. There is a lot of believing people everyday. Unemployed and sick write their wishes in the antechamber on a wooden table. Then they put their letter to the saint.
