Georgian Patriarch and Catholicos Ilia II met with representatives of the Red Cross in Georgia, the Georgian Patriarchate reported.
The meeting took place on 16 November at the Patriarchate in Tbilisi. Patriarch Iliya blessed the head of the organization and thanked for the humanitarian and social activity that the Red Cross is doing in Georgia. The Georgian Orthodox Church said the Red Cross had a hundred-year history in Georgia. Today, the organization has 2,500 volunteers and actively supports poor and poor people.
