The Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav took part in the celebrations in Bolgrad and Odessa, Ukraine

On September 30, 2018, His Beatitude, Theodore II, Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa and His Beatitude, Onufrius, Metropolitan of Kiev and all of Ukraine, celebrated together a festive worship in the Temple of Transfiguration of God. They did the special consecration of a temple renovation. The celebration was attended by His Eminence, Bishop of Varna and Veliki Preslav, John, who was the representative of Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

After the Gospel reading, His Blessing, Metropolitan Onufrey turned to the numerous clergy, the Odessa monarchs and thousands of residents of the city of Bolgrad. He talks about the meaning of human life and the Christian feat brought to life by the holy martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sofia.

After the end of Holy Liturgy, Metropolitan Onufrey thanked Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and all Africa for the prayers for the Ukrainian people.

On behalf of the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte, a speech was delivered by the Metropolitan of Varna and Veliko Preslav John, who was the representative of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in these celebrations. He emphasized the enormous contribution of Odessa and Izmail Metropolitan Agaguel in the spiritual care of the thousands of Orthodox Bulgarians in Bessarabia. In conclusion, Metropolitan Agagellel thanked their blessings and numerous guests in the city of Bolgrad.

Celebratory celebrations in Ukraine lasted for several days. Besides the culmination of the celebrations on 30 September in the city of Bolgrad, worship services were also served in the city of Odessa and the city of Izmail.
