In 2018 there are 1125 years of the First Church Council held in Preslov in 893. On this occasion, the metropolis of the Varna and the Great Preslav organized a solemn celebration of this significant event on September 16, attended by His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Sofia Metropolitan Neofit. The program includes:
15th of September
– Meeting the worthy guests.
September 16th
– 8:30 am – Meeting of His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch and Sofia Metropolitan Neofit in the Assumption Cathedral and the beginning of the Divine Liturgy.
– 12:30 – Thanksgiving prayer at the Palace Basilica at the National Historical and Archaeological Reserve „Veliki Preslav“ – the town of Veliki Preslav.
