On 26 July Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte sent a letter of condolence to His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos II
His Holiness Patriarch Neophyte said: „We received the news for those who died in tragic fires in Greece with deep sorrow and pain. In the days of tribulation for Greek people we suffer with you. We express our sincere condolences to the families. With faith and hope in Lord Jesus Christ we pray to the merciful God „Who raises the dead“ (2 Corinthians 1: 9).
We pray to the „God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort“ (2 Corinthians 1: 3) to give fast recovery to the wounded ones, repose to the souls of the victims, and comfort to their relatives!“
