With the solemn ring of the church bells on July 4, 2018, the honorable relics of St. Luke Voyno-Yasenetsky and St. Matrona Moskovska of His Eminence Rousse Metropolitan Naum, clergy and laymen, were greeted with respect, Rousse Diocese reported.
The sanctuaries were brought from the Kalmyk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, accompanied by priest Dobri Chakov – a priest of the Dorostolian diocese. They were placed in the center of the cathedral „St. Trinity „where he celebrated a thanksgiving service. Metropolitan Naum spoke of the significance of the relics, stressing that holiness was possible in our time, as evidenced by the two great saints – St. Luke and St. Matrona Moskovska, who lived in the 20th century.
Many believers present at the event had the opportunity to worship the holy relics, receiving cults from their clergy. The relics of St. Luke and St. Matrona will remain in the Rousse Cathedral until July 8, when after the Holy Liturgy will be sent solemnly.
