On Sunday before Passover, when the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrated Lord’s Entrance to Jerusalem, His Holiness the Bulgarian patriarch Neophyte led the feast service in St. Alexander Nevsky Patriarchal Cathedral.
After reading the Gospel, Patriarch Neophytus turned to the father’s word, saying that at the Lord’s Entrance in Jerusalem, „we are going through these gates today with faith and hope in God’s Providence, with trepidation and trust, to live with the Lord the climax of His work of God, which He did for our salvation, accepting the humiliation and death of the cross to fulfill every word written about Him in the prophecies, and even though we know all that He was about to endure with the inhabitants of the World building it, we also rejoice in our hearts and proclaim, triumphing: „Blessed is He, who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!“ (Matt. 21: 9)
